These are the consequences of being alone
Like a brier growing wild and free.
Like a cardinal in the midst of Spring's reprieve.
I flew among the ruins for all to see,
Leaving a path of indignity 20 wide and 20 deep.
among the decay of a dreary day
everything I held dear flew away
like a blackbird in the midst of a winter rain
and among those shattered on a somber day
I tore asunder that which held me in
and I grew like an Aum in the summer bloom
These are the consequences of being alone
In the naivety of childhood,
Set among the ruins of a broken world where
I was enthralled in myself.
And in the new-found breath of sobriety,
Set among the shadows of a solemn construct,
I was enthralled in my youth's exalted symphony.
Enthralled in self
Enthralled in spite
Enthralled in lies
I was forgotten
Enthralled in the depravity
Of those lost in sin
I was gone
Still-born
I was fading away
Grasping on to anything
These are the consequences of being alone
And because of them, I breath again
Like a brier growing wild and free.
Like a cardinal in the midst of Spring's reprieve.
I flew among the ruins for all to see,
Leaving a path of indignity 20 wide and 20 deep

Child
06:13
|
|||
In Eden lies a whispering stream,
Filled with man's indifference and shattered dreams
Along the bank, the waters grow
And in the depths, innocence begins to show
The waters seethe and simmer away
The bank subsides and slips into the fray
A molten miasma, a liquid embrace
For humanity's last saving grace
In the ruins of Eden lies a child of mine
Entwined in the spirit of the once divine
Birthed into a world corrupt, deprived
So precious, so pure, a child of mine
The clouds reach out like the hand of god
And the storm that once plagued us all
In a last grand finale, thunders away
That which shrouded us unfurls
And the formation of man regains its strength
The brilliance of a new beginning breathes at last
In the ruins of Eden lies a child of mine
Entwined in the spirit of the once divine
Birthed into a world corrupt, deprived
So precious, so pure, a child of mine

Colossus
05:42
|
|||
A slumbering colossus lies corrupted in the wake of the old ones
Still in its stead, the snow descends: frozen tears to lament his falling
And in the cold and still of the glade, a somber glow permeates the undertow
Vines etch deep into his spine
Ice seeps inward through the cracks
And fingertips outstretch through the seasonal leaves
Shudder, my anointed one
Shudder through the wild-wood
Shudder, my anointed one
Shudder, and arise
Shudder, my colossus
Shudder, and arise
In an ideal era, they ruled as one
In an age where the sun held itself high
Set among a backdrop of gleaming virginity
Some thought of themselves as divinity
Polearms reach out in combat
A gleam of silver in the dying light
A shout of victory, the lament of an age
The might of eons ends at last
Shudder, my anointed one
Shudder through the wild-wood
Shudder, my anointed one
Shudder, and arise
Shudder, my colossus
Shudder, and arise
In the dale, the summers pass, and ages wade by
Moss wears away at the varnished hide
Crickets jump through the grass and doves praise the passing
Of an age of silence and misery
Shudder, my anointed one
Shudder through the wild-wood
Shudder, my anointed one
Shudder, and arise
Shudder, my colossus
Shudder, and arise

Youngling
03:14
|
|||
Life begins its struggle anew
A seed that has yet to yearn
Yet to yearn for softened earth
Yet to yearn for the warmth of summer
Life has fallen onto struggle and strife
Onto barren earth that snuffed out all of its light
It has been many moons since one felt so snug and warm
Since dew has graced its withering tendrils
A seed now sprouts in fresh-tilled earth
Its roots running deep towards the core
Through the cracks it raises towards the sun
A seed now sprouting
Alive again
Its foundation crumbles and falls
Under the weight of faltering youth
The rocks pollute what once was pure
And the soil, since tainted
Greases the gears
Life begins its struggle anew
A seed that has begun to yearn
A seed now sprouts in fresh-tilled earth
Its roots running deep towards the core
Through the cracks it raises towards the sun
A seed now sprouting
Alive again

Secutus Sum
04:23
|
|||
Winter seems moments away
Frosty echoes on my breath
Gales urge me onward, upward
Newborn snow defies my prey
Lost in the expanse of overwhelming white
I'm lost in a vision, a beautiful sight
Betraying my quarry's faltering plight
Tracks unseen turn lucid in blinding light
Secutus sum
I shall consume
Bow at the ready
Hand holding the arrow steady
My prize awaits beyond the fog
Releasing the arrow, an epilogue
Secutus sum
I shall consume

Blinding light shreds my façade,
Lays bare what's deeply flawed.
Somber musings left me lonesome and cold,
My stoic vigil in this starry fold.
Falling now beyond perception,
This shade's transfixed to my soul.
Laid in putrid mire, well past redemption,
Ossein gloom shepherds me to Sheol.
Languish in misery, your body is now weak, is now weak.
Know naught but anguish, of which you now reek, you now reek.
Bleeding now into my wretched mind,
This bleak illusion of light which binds me.
Incinerate the anguish, and leave naught left behind,
Writhing on a pyre for all to see.
Languish in misery, your vision is now bleak, is now bleak.
Bask in the anguish, of which you now reek, you now reek.
To exist, and be void of life,
A puppet with no master, weak and fading.
Anguish beyond comprehension,
The anguish of which I reek.
Languish in misery, my spirit is now weak, is now weak.
Smothered in anguish, of which I now reek, I now reek.
The anguish,
The anguish,
The anguish of which I now reek, I now reek.
Somber musings left me lonesome and cold in this desolate fold.
